Seeking the Soul will try to give Perfect Soul his second Breeders’ Cup winner when the Grade 1 winner goes postward in Saturday’s $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Santa Anita Park.
Second in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1), Seeking the Soul has amassed $3,354,153 in earnings for his owner/breeder Charles Fipke, who also campaigned Perfect Soul.
Seeking the Soul drew post 2 in the 11-horse field and will be ridden by Brian Hernandez, Jr., who was aboard in last year’s Breeders’ Cup.
Seeking the Soul is Perfect Soul’s all-time leading earning, ahead of Perfect Shirl, who won the 2011 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1).
Saturday’s Classic has a scheduled post time of 5:44 p.m. PT and can be seen on NBC-TV.
